I am buying some used tunze pumps that have been kept up well and cleaned regularly. They have had no issues either.
They are about two years old, is this a bad idea to buy these used or do they have a good lifespan?
I am getting a good deal on the pair of 6100's + single controller + splitter + photmeter and I forget what else for 400.
Thanks for your input, I have not owned a Tunze pump and I just havent heard much about their lifespan.

Running 3 years and no problems (other than ones caused by myself--i.e. splashing water on the driver...).

Thanks I just wanted to make sure that they do not typically burn up after like 2.5 years or something.

I would think you can get longer then 3 yrs out of them with as much as they cost, maintenence is important though

Tunzes will still be running long after the cockroaches have replaced humanity as the planet's dominant species. I expect sentient Tunzes (and Eheims) will replace the cockroaches a few millenia later.

Well that makes me feel better, in a strange way.
Thanks for the advice, ive never owned these before and was apprehensive about dropping 400 on used equipment.

My tunzes are going on three years old, not one issue, except for the regualr cleaning.

I have known people with Tunze pumps that were over 20 years old.
