Hi, I have some Giesemann bulbs I purchased from you about a month ago that are not performing equally. I have three actinic+ bulbs and none of them are the same on par #'s. 1 of them actually has 30% less brightness. The aquablue bulb is also not performing how it should par wise. I switched around the bulbs on different ballasts and the par issue followed the bulb. I got some UVL bulbs from you also and they are performing like they should. Please let me know what you can do. Thank you very much.

I sent an email to the distributor for Giesemann to see what they say. I am sure they will have some questions. Where did you obtain the PAR values that the Giesemann bulbs are supposed to operate at? What ballast and reflectors are you using? What are you using to test the PAR values?

Also, please provide your PAR readings.

I do not know technically what par they are supposed to operate at. I had some before that were always very consistent, and always higher than 900 par at least. I have these bulbs in an Aquactinics Constellation fixture with Sylvania ballasts. I am using and Apogee Quantum par meter. The aquablue and the actinic+'s are all the Giesemann brand bulbs. For some reason 1 Actinic + will get about mid 1,000 par, another will get high 800 to low 900 par, and the one that I first noticed having lower par was only about mid 700 to low 800 par. That is basically a 30% difference between bulbs and does not seem right. The Aquablue tested at only about mid 700 to lower 800 par also. All par measurements were taken with the sensor only about 1/4"-1/2" away from the bulb. Thanks

Okay, I will provide this info to Giesmann.
Were the bulbs you had before used and tested on the same fixture- the Constellation? Were they tested with the same Par meter?

Actually it was on the Tek fixture with Advance ballast, which is still a regular HO ballast, plus not as reflective reflectors. So actually that fixture should not have as much par. But these bulbs were still different in par #'s, as in 1 bulb seems to be normal and the other's are not the same amount of par with the same par meter. Thanks for the fast replies.
