Needlewheel pump on Beckett?

I set up a second tank and broke out my old aerofoamer 824 skimmer. It has an up to date beckett on it but after using a ER skimmer with two sedra 5000 needlewheel pumps on my main system for a few years, I prefer the needlewheel pumps for the number of bubbles, ease of use, and quieter operation submerged.

I'm wondering if it would be easy enough to add a needlewheel pump , a sedra 15000 for example, to the aerofoamer. It seems like it should work, but should I remove the beckett or just leave it in there for extra aeration/bubble creation ?

Seems like it should work no problem, but I was hoping someone would have an opinion about removing the beckett or not. <bump>
