They have been opening still lately, but they look funny now. see the picture above, I can tell they aren't fully happy and my water params are fine. Any ideas? Whats the stuff on them? Is that Zoa pox?

I have a lot of other zoa's and if that is something wrong then I want to treat it now before it spreads.

let me know.

Thanks,

Gary

They're protopalythoa's, they take in grains of sand and other debris as protection. They also like decent light unlike they're cousin purple deaths, mine grow to the size of nickles. They also like spot feedings.

What do you feed yours?

Mine used to look like that, but now they have changed a lot. I'll take another picture when my light turns on.

They are normally right out in the light under a 175 Watt MH.
