I just got a D90 email yesterday. I had no idea it was being released this soon. I only heard/read of the D700.

Awesome camera, Pete! I definitely jealous. You and Darcy will have a blast learning to use it. It will be interesting to see who get into photography more between the two of you.

Did the camera come with a kit lens?
Have you picked a bag for the camera yet?

I got a tamrac slingbag, 5657 I think, will hold the camera with the 18-105mm VR it came with. I think today is the official release date, but the Ritz near my house recieved 3 yesterday. I had just happened to call about a pre-order and was suprised to find they had just got them via UPS 10 minutes before I called.

I paid retail, $1299. There aren't any deals to be had yet, but that may change after they've been out a while (unless you want to chance it on MS Live cashback).

The D90 has the sensor and LCD off the D300. Gorgeous, and the video is cool too.
