I just received my Reeflo 250 Skimmer with the Dart Gold Motor and got it running yesterday, right from the start with everything wide open, the motor makes a rumbling noise, but when I turn down the air flow it runs quit.
Is this normal, for the first few days? is there something wrong with the motor
Any help would be appreciated

NO something is wrong. You should only hear air being chopped up near the volute other than that the motor should be near silent. Call the place of purchase and see what the problem is or opt for a replacement.

I believe the motor noise is gone now, but the air suction noise from the silencer is quite loud, is this normal for the reeflo 250, or is there a way to make it not as noisy, or will it go away once broken it. It has been running for 4 days.

Air suction noise is a good thing. Take the silencer off and really hear how loud it could be. The sound will go down some once the skimmer runs for a while.FWIW

i have motor noise on my pump. i took the whole thing apart again yesterday and tried to see if a finger on the impeller broke and was rattleing around in there. it wasn't and the noise continued after i put it back together. i called reeflo and now they are going to send me a new pump. i would give them a call. her first suggestion to me was to see if the fan blade is hitting the gaurd in the back of the pump. if it isn't that it is probably a bearing that is bad. i got their number from premium aquatics...
