I'm gravity feeding about 450 gallons an hour through it.
I'm not using an additional air pump to force more air into the skimmer.
Whole thing is using a little more than 100 watts.

I would think that skimmer would keep up with at least two children that size.:p

Nice looking skimmer. Do you know the exact wattage and air pull. It looks to be pulling a good amount of air. What type of wheel and venturi is it utilizing? I really like the deeper bubble chamber George creates by extending it to the bottom of the box.

BTW Nice tank Mantis. Any other photos of the skimmer and tank to share with us?

would you mind explaining how you've hung your canopy? i'm looking to do something similar but i'm not sure how i'm going to be able to move it up (or out of the way) easily to get in the tank. feel free to just point me to a build thread if you have one.

When you say new does that mean Geo just made it or did you buy it from someone else, second pre say. I ran a post wondering if Geo was building new skimmers again I also E-mail them and nothing. By the way great tank!!!!!

That's a new skimmer. You can tell by the Dart with the Baldor motor. Strange that George didn't respond to your email. He is usually very active on answering questions via email. Your email may have been filtered out as spam. I would try again.

Excellent. I've been waiting to see some updated pictures on this tank for a long time. That skimmer rocks (as does the tank).

Will you update your thread as well?

Aquarium Obsessed built the tank.
400 gallons with 4 Tunze 6200's built into the far side controlled by a single Wavebox controller.
I get about an 1.5" tall wave.

I just have the standard needle wheel on my Dart. I don't know the exact numbers, just guessing.

The front side of the canopy is hanging from chains suspended from the ceiling, when I need to really get into the tank to adjust something the canopy rises up like a car hood and I move the hooks further up the chain. The back side of the canopy rests on this pillar and sits in a groove.

whats the tank dimensions
what are you doing for light.

I'm looking to set something similar up.
