My new ATB arrived today. First impressions are impressive both in size and planning. Victor/Anton basically plans these things down to the goodie bag you see below with hose clamps gasket lubricant etc. This is a 30" custom size btw.

I also made Victor send me a 50mm Bulkhead and a length of 50mm piping to keep the outlet a little more clean looking. Wondering about the mesh Impellor though....I'm completely new to modding these things. Is it this plastic disc tie wrapped to the cord Victor?
More later for the big install, its gonne be reeeally cramped under my stand!
Thanks for all your help and patience Victor!

Kris,
Yes the plate tied to the cord is your mesh plate . The needlewheel is already in the pump. For ours all you will do is twist the grey circle off the plate put on some mesh put the grey circle back on then cut the mesh to size.

UNDER THE STAND? That thing is a work of art and should be displayed next to the tank for all to see.:D
Nice skimmer. Money well spent IMO. What color is next Victor? Orange? Purple? Yellow jacket yellow?

Well it's been a very challenging few months. Hurricane Ike killed my tank. Rare clown collection Gem tang et all. It's funny b4 we evacuated I placed my XL very carefully in the attic in case of the storm surge taking out the ground floor :/.
I was really considering quitting the hobby. I even posted my set up for sale not too long ago. After a bit of soul searching and encouragement from my wife I set this monster back up
What you see is around 16hrs of skimming. the tank was dirty but this was right after a 375 gallon water change, so not too dirty :). The skimmer performed just as I guessed it would, amazing. The conical design really puts the ATB up over the high end competition. The bubbles as they rise through the cone seem to keep their uniformity, producing a nice consistent foam head. A foam head which formed in around 15 minutes. The skimmer wasn't rinsed btw I never do that. The airstar is pulling right around 100 scfh with the needle wheel impellor [going to retest when I get the appropriate sized barb for my Dwyer].
I am goin to work on the cords you see in the last picture later I promise :). I just had neck surgery and I'm still pretty out of it.

Yeah I had this crazy idea to have a tank with multiple Leucokranos clowns. I had four and one theilli till Ike..oh well.
I'll be posting some Dwyer and Kill a watt pictures soon. Skimmer is still consistently skimming impressively.
