I noticed on the free aquanotes stock setup it has a slot for an alarm that can notify me if something is going wrong.

I just wanted to know what I can use as an alarm to plug into that outlet if something goes wrong?

Thanks for the help

You don't need to use AquaNotes to get the functionality of an alarm (to tell you when some tank parameter is out of wack). The alarm in AquaNotes is more about sending an email when the alarm timer goes off.

Alarm is just like any other timer, you can plug a radio, light, buzzer, etc into a DC8 outlet and turn it on when something goes bad.

Thanks for the help. So for aquanotes to send me an email I don't actually need to plug anything in the outlet right?

Still can't think of something that would put off an audible sound that just plugs in and makes a beeping noise when power goes to it.

You will need the full version of AquaNotes to send emails (email is built in for the AC3 and AC3 Pro).

For local alarms you can use a radio, Radio Shack sells many 12v buzzers (you could wire one to a small transformer) and there are 120 v buzzers that other electronic stores sell; you would need to check around at the stores in your area.
