Lighting? Will it work......

I am going to build a hood for my 10 gallon tank. I currently have 40 watts of PC lighting. I want to add 20 watts more of PC lighting but i want to run it only for like 3 to 4 hours kinda like it was Noon Time. Would this work or would it be a waste?

I think it will work. that way you recreate the day time light. I don't see why not to do it.
