wanted to get some suggestions on feeding SPS corals.
Have tried a number of products and ways but don't think I'm there yet.

Questions:

*best foods?
*how frequently? daily, every other day, 3x per week?
*do you turn off the circ pump and for how long?
*do you use a dosing pump like a litermeter? or just dump it in the tank?

I tried making up a quart of diluted food in salt water and dosing it over the course of the day through a litermeter for a week but after a few days at room temp it smelled awful so I'm thinking there has to be a better way. If you dose continually through the day is that as effective as dumping it in the tank and shutting off the circ pump?

Thanks for the help!

I rely on fish feces for SPS food. Alternatively, you could just add Rotifers which I've done in the past.

I also rely on fish waste. But once a week I make a mixture of DTs' oyster eggs with frozen cyclopeeze. I turn off the powerheads for abot 30 - 45 min. plus I turn off the skimmer. I leave the skimmer off overnight and I also feed after the lights have gone out. This is when the polyps are out and feeding.

Fish poop. Every once in a great will I will use a squirt of rotis. I feed my fish a home made blend of mysis, brine, mega marine, and cyclopees. The sps my get some of that but it is not intended for them. Less is more IMO.

Oyster eggs and zooplex. Fish poop also.
