i hear of so many people that are in and out of the hobby in a year or two.

i would like to know about people that have had the same tank running for 5 years or more.

what have you learned along the way?

what would you have done differently?

show us some pictures of the tank then and now!

Great idea for a thread Reefski, so no 5+ year tanks out there? C'mon, since when are reefers shy about displaying their tanks? Let's see 'em...

LOL same here I've been in the hobby since 03.. But I haven't kept the same tank. There was an 8 year old reef posted not to long ago. I'm sure there is some out there. I would think these guys that setup up these 400+ gallon displays would leave them up for several years.

I've had my office tank up spring 2003 and running since fall 2003,
and have experienced a bunch of situations.....

A 150 gallon slow overflow flood from a ball valve that got something (a few crab shells) lodged in it.

A make up water sensor that fell off, and dumped a bunch RO water in the system.

Two storm related power outages yr 2 and yr 4 that sent my tank on a rollercoaster death swing ( I need a back up power supply), but at my office it is mostly impossible...

all in all thbe tank is running great..........
