Hi, I've just been bitten by the zoo bug. And have been doing some looking... Here are my three favorite zoo's/ palys in no order:

Darth Mauls

Kalidescopes

Sapronos

So, what are yours?

Great thread! I was just thinking about that and have some pics ready of my favorite zoanthids. They aren't my pics and i don't know what they are but wow, they're the ones responsible for my interest in learning more about zoas.

I like so very many to be honest, but these in the first photo below are the first zoanthids I ever laid my eyes on when I logged on here. They belong to "Seapug" here on the forum. I don't even think he knows how i feel about his zoas here. http://pages.prodigy.net/indianahawkeye/newpage29/10.gif
They are the prettiest things i've ever seen, aside from my daughter... and maybe...diamonds. I hope to God I am able to find these one day. Any pic that Seapug has of these particular zoas make my jaw drop and my heart flutter, every single time.

Also, these. The first time i saw these I was like "Um..is it just me or does those little guys have...lips !?" http://www.cosgan.de/images/smilie/konfus/g010.gif
http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y181/lush-a-lot/Temp/temp5.jpg
http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y181/lush-a-lot/Temp/temp1-1.jpg
I don't know if these are the same as the two above but these also, do my head in. It's not just the lips but It's this specific color combination I guess. wow, wow, wow.
I'm not positive but I think I'd walk through hot coals for these.
http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y181/lush-a-lot/Temp/temp3.jpg

Also, these. I know their common name is "Chong Bong". OMG. I saw a pic of them once and thought i must've just been dreaming. and then a few weeks later Flyyguy posted a pic of them. So, for fun, I've deemed Flyyguy utterly responsible for my obession with these.

I like the darth mauls/headless horseman/nightmare palys. I also really like the sopranos but good luck finding anyone that has any living polyps...most melted while being shipped or shortly thereafter. My third most favorite is the strawberry wine paly.

These are my top 5, couldn't choose 3, that I have. I can't really put zoas/palys I don't have/haven't seen in person in my top list.

I'd call it gorgeous! Call it whatever you want...it probably already has several ridiculous names anyway.

Here's one of my favorites. I think I've seen it called something like "Jack Rabbit" or something equally silly that doesn't even remotely describe what it looks like.

Yes! That is awesome. It's totally like one of the pics I was talking about in my post above, not Seapug's but Flyyguy's pic. Aren't those great? Wow.

Yup, those look like Jack Rabbits: http://www.vividaquariums.com/10Expand.asp?ProductCode=05-5077-10

These are all great looking... Does anybody know where to buy soprano's from (aside from zoafrag.com? )

BTW what do you guys feed your zoos/ palys (if anything) because I decided to feed my grandis palys and they just took off! I feed Reef Nutrition's phyto feast and roti-feast 2-3X a week and I feed the few fish in there spectrum pellets and Reef Nutrition Tigger pods and I spot feed my grandis and acans mysis or something 1X a week or so. I am looking forward to it shooting off some new ones. I guess it sometimes takes awhile to start sprouting but once they do, they grow out at a decent rate. My base of the polyp is expanding so I know that it is getting comfortable :)

Thanks Doctor for the "why". I have wondering why these zoas and palys are the favorites of the various posters on the thread here. I love your answer lol.
