My hammer hasn't really been acting "right" as of the last week or two. I figured I would just give it time but it isn't really getting better. I don't see any tissue rescission around the side of it but its just not extending out very much at all and the "hammers" aren't very hammerish as you can tell... they've become more like balls and some of them (as you can see in the picture) look like a kinked hose sorta

it could be a number of things. Are your parameters normal? It could be flow or a fish, shrimp or another coral that is irritating it.

Its been in the same spot flow wise since I've had it, so I don't think its the flow. No fish in the tank but there is a peppermint shrimp who minds his manners. No other near by corals.

hmm the only other think I can think of (and I'm no pro) would be bugs. Are there any white spots? They usually eat through the flesh and crawl on the inside and outside. I have seen red gray and white bugs. they are really hard to see but the little white spots are usually where they have chewed through and the coral is pinching itself off making it look white in that spot. I hope it starts looking better soon!

Hmm, that's possible but I assume the person looks in the tank enough to know somethings not right. Check your alk.....corals get ****y when that's too low.
