I am upgrading to a 75 and will be using a Hang On Back protein skimmer. I have narrowed it down to the Octopus 300. However there are two versions One is the 300F and the other the 300BF.

The 300Bf costs about $30-$40 more and I am just wondering is there anything about it that merits the extra cash.

thanks

Nate

The pump's are inside the body on teh f and the pump's are in the tank on the other one. The new one coming out, 800i with teh sicce will be much nicer than either of these guys

Which is the best bang for your buck?
BH 1000 - $149
BH 100 - $110
BH 100F - $150
BH 100SS - $120

somosomo, Get the DBH-300F Octopus Dual Hang-on-Back. Pumps are internal and this is a great skimmer. It is large but it works!

blcketnies11, Of the ones listed, the best bang for the buck is the BH-100F in my opinion.

Here's a link to the 800 thread. http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=1471116
I had the BH 100, and it worked okay. Are you going hob because you don't want to run a sump? I picked up a barely used Bermuda 3c for the price of the BH100SS, and you can mount it externally. I put it in a cabinet above my 75. If you haven't set the tank up yet, you could space it out from the wall so you could fit an external skimmer behind it. Just an idea.

I want a HOB b/c I don't want to run a sump on my non drilled 29g tank.
BH100F won't work b/c I only have 11 inches of room left on the back of my tank and it is 13 inches. Any suggestions?
