This may sound silly, but I've already lost a bunch of fish in my previous tank when my bathroom was sanded. The dust got EVERYWHERE in my house which included the tank, the pH plummited and that was all she wrote!!

Today I have to get my carpets cleaned. Does anyone know if that emits anything that could get into my tank? I now have a much larger tank than before and it is not covered.

Thoughts??

We had ours cleaned about 2 weeks ago. I turned off the lights and covered the tank with a blanket. We used ServiceMaster and they use a living enzyme that is not toxic. I covered the tank to be safe and everything is ok.

There may be some stuff off-gassed from the cleaning solutions, I'd just stick some carbon in the tank for a couple days to clear out anything that may have gotten in the tank, but I wouldnt be overly worried.
