Hello, I want to know how long i should keep the skimmer turned down like the manual says. Its say keep the skimmer turned down for 1 or 2 days is this true. I just get the skimmer today and its been running for 5 hours and the foam is about half way up the skimmer neck at all times?

how deep is the water in the skimmer chamber?
Once it breaks in the bubbles rise 4-6 inches sometimes

9 inches is on the high side keep the wedge pipe open all the way if it overflows you will have to raise it

Reefking,
The recommended sump water height for the small with the eheim 1260 pump is 6.5 inches

Reefking 8 inches for the sicce pump
We recommend to let it break in but once the bubbles do not stick to the body you should be fine to adjust the wedge pipe by moving the red dots farther apart

HAVE YOU EVER HAD SOME PROBLEMS WITH THE SICCE PUMP AFTER YOU TURN OFF THE POWER AND TURN IT BACK ON THE PUMP DOESNT START I HAVE TO PLAY WITH IT TO GET IT GOING AGAIN?

so far mine has started every time it could be that yours is too deep and it is creating head pressure that causes the pump to have trouble also check the pump for grit around the magnet

You may try trimming the mesh a tiny bit for restart issues.

from my experience with sicce pumps, just blow on the airline, and it should restart fine.

its hard to tell where the water level is, the body is all air it seems like, but i guess the eheim 1250 you can see the waterline.
on my sicce/small the water i think is an inch above the waterline of the sump so about 8 -9 inches up the body of the skimmer.

you will love it, I think 7 inches is an exellent place to start assuming you have the small with 1250, is that right?
