So, I am thinking about selling my MR3R skimmer and get something that will fit in the stand of the 240 I am setting up. Currently the skimmer is running on my 180 FO system that has a fairly high bio load: Large Volitan, huma huma, niger, queen angel, yellow tang, spotted grouper, maroon clown, porcupine puffer and a purple damsel. My skimmer has not produced any skimmate in over a year. Nitrates stay at 0. It stopped producing skimmate once the refugium was put in place. There are times when it doesn't run at all, but I guess I need to keep a skimmer in the system. I cannot afford Deltec/ bubbleking etc, was thinking of a decent needlewheel. thanks tommy

Need more specs. Height and footprint under your stand, budget, in sump or external etc.

Could be internal or external. I built the stand, it has about 40" of clearance. The tank is 24x24x96. I build the stand to accommodate the MR3R, but was thinking about using something more efficient than a dual beckett. I need to pretty reasonable on the skimmer, will look at used items here on RC.

I'd look at the MSX skimmers. MSX 250
