I came in the office this morning from the weekend. I look around and my new Torch coral is half eaten, my new Long Tenacle Plate Coral is half eaten as well. Here is my known stock list: Sailfin Tang, Blonde Naso Tang, 2 Black and Gold Chromis, 1 Royal Gramma, 1 Lawn Mower Blenny, 1 Shrimp Goby, 1 Pistol Shrimp, 5 Peppermint Shrimp, 1 Orange Linkia Star, 2 Brittle Star, 3 Emerald Grab, Various and Numerous Snails.

I have other corals, a couple zoo frags, a green star polyp, and a moon rock (new). The zoos and green star have never been touched and I have had them 2 months minimum.

Any suggestions?

Are you sure your peppermint shrimp are not camelback shrimp...sometimes those get sold as peppermint shrimp and i dont beleive they are reef safe?

I am pretty sure they are peppermint shrimp. They haven't bothered anything up until now.

hmmmm if you really wanted to be a die-hard you could sit for an hour or so one night with a red light and try to see if you can see the culprit...

I think I found the pest. I just saw one of the chromis nipping at the plate coral. I had noticed that chromis chasing the tangs starting a couple weeks ago. I think he may have to go.
