Keeping Live Sand - Alive

Hi all,

I have around 75lbs of sand from a fellow reefer who's getting out.
Source tank was a 150 with apprx 3-4" sand bed. Fine sand.

How do I keep it alive for 2 months in a rubbermaid?

I have around 5 inches of sand with another 5 inches of water on top.
Maxi-jet and heater.

I don't know about two months but I kept about that 80 pounds of sand in an ice cooler for a month with only about 4 inches of water, a heather bar and small powerhead. The sand was just crawling with live and I didn't want to clean it or toss it. After a month I set up a refugium with about half of the sand. Added a little liverock and some microalgae and it was looking like a 1 year old refugium after about 4 weeks. Supper clean levels and pods by the hundreds swimmin around like they owned the joint. I can imagine though that each persons experience by be different here. I had a positive one...
