I was shocked when I randomly check a batch of freshly mixed saltwater using Red Sea Coral Pro. I'm using RO/DI water and I measured 0.14 with a Hanna photometer. Any thoughts?

Have you checked the TDS and phosphate content of your RO/DI water? Your DI cartridge might be getting old.

I have a bucket of this salt coming today as I measured a high silica content in a bucket of another brand...was any follow-up made on this? Was the DI/RO checked? Was PO4 truly present in the salt mix??

I talked to this gentleman a bit on the phone. His phosphate levels were increasing the longer the water sat in its current location even while running a GFO reactor. I asked him to relocate the water vessel to elsewhere in the house. My feeling was that it was picking up phosphate from contamination where it was located.

That would make nitrates, not phosphates. Unless he was washing his hands in it too.;)

I've been useing this salt for awhile,I have not seen this happen.I think the storage or RO/DI is a good call.In fact I can't think of anything negative to say about it which is kinda boreing
