Are there different requirements depending on what it is?
How do you tell the difference between the two species?

Xeniids are really difficult to ID, even down to genus level unless youve got a powerful microscope handy. You can use growth pattern as a loose guide, as well as factors like pinnule size, pusatile or non-pulsatile, etc.

Yours looks more like an Efflo or Cespitularia than it does a Xenia IMHO. Nice piece regardless of what it really is.

Thanks I've had it a week and it has dropped that one foot and attached to the rock in front and also the one on the side. Differently seems to be a fast grower so far
