I have to top my tank off every day to keep salinity stable. Do you need to have a sump to do an auto top off? I fill up a brita pitcher and put it on top of the lights and let it slowly drip overnight. Is there an easier way?

you can purchase a toms dosing pump with a airline and control valve.

I use a Aqua Lifter and a float valve on my Q-tank that works great.

You could put a JBJ ATO in your display. All you need is the ATO kit, a bucket, pump, and an outlet to plug it into. The JBJ ATO is about as small and simple as they come.

so u just throw the pump in the bucket with your top off water and connect airline tubing and an air valve and let it drip into the tank?

I have my RO/DI on the other side of the wall next to my tank - I use a Kent float valve to add more RO/DI when needed.

Ditto. I bought one a year ago and it is worth every cent. It costs a little more (Mine was like 80 bucks) but it is worth it. I put my calcium chloride supplements in the bucket water that is used for top off and at night I add my alkalinity supplements.

Tank keeping is much less of a chore with an automatic top off.

im thinking about the jbj ato...still what type of pump do u need for this? Anything else u need other than the pump?

You can use a very small pump. I use a MJ400 for mine. That's more than enough.

I'm sure the Tunze Osmolator is a great product and superior in some way, but the JBJ ATO comes with two float switches, allows you to set it up in various configurations, has an alarm, etc. like the Tunze unit.
