I am currently have a 125 gallon mixed reef tank that has been up for around 2 years. I have come to the conclusion that i hate acrylic tanks. I want to take everything out of the tank and put a 125 gallon glass tank in its place. I am going to use the same rock, water, sand etc. What is that going to do to my cycle and what are the odds i am going to loose everything.

shouldn't be too big a deal..... just act like a BIG 20-30 gal water change.....

I bought my tank this way and it wasn't too bad.. I got very little algae bloom and all was good..

Just don't let water and sand sit too long in between the switch...
cheers

Not sure but I don't think it would be good to transfer all the sand, it could be quit foul depending on how deep it is.

I agree with ArizonaReefer, only use a small amount of sand from your old tank. You may also want to be sure you give all your live rock a good dip and scrub and dip again to get any settled detritus out of the pores of the rock. This will also help ensure you have a smooth transition.
