The description of one of the Sea Hares that That Fish Place is selling should be changed because it's misleading. The Aplysia californica does not come from the Indo-Pacifc as described. It's a temperate water animal that comes from the western coast of North America, which typically has a short life-span in tropical tanks. It can also grow quite large--too large for most tanks.

You are correct, the Aplysia californica is native to southern California and Mexico, I believe that the specimens that we get are being collected in Mexico. The website info has been changed
We get several species of Sea Hares, and Identifying them can be a challenge if we do not know where they were collected. One of the species listed from one of our suppliers is Dolabrifera dolabrifera, which is an Indo-Pacific species, this may be why we had the origin listed as such. We have another shipment coming in today, I will try to make a positive ID on them and update the website if necessary
