I got some new corals in the past few weeks, and I think it's time to share, since they all seem to be doing well.

First, I had to remove my bright orange sponge. :( It had started to slowly disintigrate. I think it may have had something to do with a 26 hour power outage. (although it was the only thing in the tank that had a negative effects, so maybe it wasn't the power outage but something else)

Anyhow, since I had an open spot, I got a doughnut coral.

And remember my thread last week about the Duncan corals? Here they are !

And I had to get rid of my galaxie coral too. The stingers on it were getting way out of control and it was stinging the crap out of my leathers. But not to worry! I replaced it with a Favia !

Can someone tell me what type of favia this is?

Great looking tank!
Your new favia looks candy caneish to me... but you would know better than me!

Nope, definatly NOT a candycane. It's one solid coral, not branched or anything, and the polyps are a lot smaller than candycanes.

My guess is that you have a favia on your hands there, hard to say which species. Maybe a matthaii or speciosa? Do you know where it is from?

Nope, all I know about it, is that it's Pretty. :)
