Wondering if anyone could tell me why an SPS would get a brownish color? Started off pretty not brown but started coloring browner.
Any help in whats wrong and how to fix would be greatly appreciated.

There is a picture in the gallery of the coral in question. My apologies as I'm pretty new to ReefCentral, and have computer handicap.

Parameters seem to be okay.... I think...

temp 78.5
Salinity 1.025
ph 8.0
cal 440
alk 4.0
mag 1300

Sound reasonable or should I try to fix any of these?

in your gallery, copy image tag (link starting with http:), and when posting, find 'IMG' button and click on it and paste the link in the popped window.

What are your nitrates and phosphates at? Any algae in the tank?

When a coral turns brown it is prodcuing a higher conentration of zooxanthelae(the algae inside the coral which produces sugar via phosynthesis)).All zooxanthelae are brown, btw. It may also stop producing colorfull pigments it uses to protect itself from higher lighting. It will increase zooxanthelae to compensate for lower lighting levels than it's used to tor when a lot of nutrients(nitrate and phosphate) are available for the zooxanthelae.

I'm pretty sure that those units don't have individual reflectors. You might now have enough light for SPS.

agreed with tmz, it's a response from high nutrient levels in the water column. I wouldnt rely solely on patience, you'll want to ensure that water quality is well maintained.
