aqua medic calcium reactor

anyone have an aqua medic calcium reactor 1000? i bought one used from a lfs that was closing and i'm having a problem installing it. the fitting on the reactor for the water inline is 1/4". how do you get 1/4"(airline hose) to fit a power head? here is a link to the manual for the reactor.
