WEll, for my first thread on Reef Central i'd just like to show everyone what i'm working on at the moment.

My tank is SUCH a typical case of not doing enough researching, just going out and buying. Everytime I look at it I kick myself for not doing things the "correct" way. Just too much going at the time (just bought first home, bills, renos, cars etc).

System:
Eheim Pro II 2028 running carbon and rowa
Hang-on Superskimmer 125
Hang-on Phosban reactor
1x mj1200
1x mj 900
2x koralia 4
Weipro 2x250w hqi 20k, 4xT5 actinic

After realizing my mistakes I completely changed the tank around. Rock work was all centere, nothing touching the back wall. Powerheads placed accordingly for circular flow throughout.

In my opinion, this has worked for me. 3 key factors (keep in mind, barely any SPS) flow, quality liverock, scheduled w/c & dosing.

Chemicals I use are:
"Reef" Strontium
"Reef" Advantage Magnesium
"Kent Marine" Iodine
"Kent Marine" Kalkwasser Mix
"ESV" 2 part alk/ca
just switched IO to Deltech Salt

Anyway, on with the pics!

Well if it was only 10 months then you spent a lot of money on corals. :) Nice looking tank Mate!

Definetely have spent some cash ... haha.

But LPS and zoos seem to grow like crazy in my tank. Have even had great success with my rbta.... split 3 times already! And then there's my clam fetish... just something about them, can't seem to stop adding them!

Thanks everyone!

Contructive criticism is always welcome!

Now onto individual pieces.

While it's a lovely healthy looking tank it's a bit too crowded for my taste. I don't like the rock so close to the glass.
Maybe it's time to add a second tank and thin things out a bit ; )
Now there's a good excuse.

Great looking tank! I am in the same boat as you were, when i went a little bigger I bought a 70g without much thought into the equipment changes needed. I am moving the end of this month and plan to upgrade my tank a bit: drilling for overflow, BB, DSB in sump, 2nd tank in the stand for a better fuge, building towers with base rock, etc. I have some growth but would like my tank looking more like yours!
Nice job!
