I have been trying to find something like this:

http://www.plastic-mart.com/class.php?cat=28

but clear. But I have had no luck. I want it clear, so light can penetrate so I can grow chaeto in it (I need an enclosed sump. The return holes on the tank are on the bottom, so with a power outage it would all drain. My thought is that if I was to get a water tight container like the one above, then when the power goes out, the tank only drains to fill the container).

So, my new idea is this. If I buy a piece of 1/4" acrylic, cut out a 6" x 8" section off the side of one of those tanks in the link above, and attach the acrylic to the inside of the hole, then I would have a clear section for light to penetrate for growing chaeto. So, with all that said, does anybody know if it would be possible to bond the acrylic to one of these tanks to create a reliable, water tight seal? If so, what would be the best bonding agent?

Thanks.

acrylics wont bond to poly plastics (polyethylene, nor polypropylene).
you might be able to use mechanical fasteners (nylon bolts) and a gasket???

Thanks, Rick. That is a great idea.
