So, my lfs was having a huge sale with everything in the store being marked down. I go in to buy some actinic bulbs as mine burnt out the other day and some filter pads. I go into the store and browse around as usual (BIG MISTAKE). The store got some convicts in and I had always wanted one. Know I know I should buy one, but I havent seen one in any of my lfs' ever. Within the next 10 minutes, Im on the way home with one.

Lets hear some of your impulse buys

BTW I LOVE HIM/HER

Too many to think of, I once started a new tank to hold all the corals I bought but then realized I either didn't want then or they didn't fit in my tank...

Had a tank set up for seahorses. Came home yesterday with a Foxface rabbit and a Lawnmower Blenny. Guess that Impulse changed things a bit. No more seahorses. BUT, no more hair algae either :D

It's so funny. So many corals need you to be patient and wait for them to grow, but on the otherhand so many of us are so damn impulsive....doesn't make sense :crazy1:

Um, took a friend to the airport in portland, about 3 hours away, and decided to stop in at the LFS up there, as I have never been there. Ended up spending $300 on corals, got oregon tort, ora tricolor, reverse tri color, purple millipora, and a colony of pink tri color. The problem was, I had just got laid off. Start a new job monday.

Cousin is building a 250 gallon inwall tank. I had been playing around with fresh water, and decided how hard could a reef be. I go buy a 29 gallon tank with heater, powerheads, 60+ pounds live rock, stand, 30lbs live sand, dual 24 watt t5 lighting. Spent over a thousand 1 day. I cycle the tank 3 weeks and buy, 2 ocelaris clowns, 1 dwarf lion, 5 hermits, two mexican turbos, 1 coral beauty, colony of yellow polyps. Coral beauty gets white spots, easy i know what to do grab my coppersafe treat the tank. As you know the rest is history.

I went in to buy an argi angel to pair with my other and walk out with the angel and a pair of midas blennies. Went from spending $16 to about $90.

Got in a fight with the wife. Came home with a 65g tank, sump, canopy, return pump, 50 lbs of LR and a T5 light fixture. I had to it was all brand new and total was about $600.

When I got home with it, another fight with the wife.

Actually, I'm pretty good about impulse buys.

It took me about year of being stupid to realize that whenever I buy something on a whim, it never works out and usually dies. Also, I told myself if I can keep my spending under control for a year or so I'll have enough money to upgrade my 30 gallon tank to a 120. Hows that for motivation?
