I have had a tiger pistol/YWG pair since my first tank. They are def one of the more interesting things to watch in the tank. About 2 mo ago I purchased a small plate coral, it was about the size of a quater but great color and cheap! It was growing great, but my pistol kept building his hole right next to the plate. I moved the plate a couple times, but the shrimps hole kept appearing right next to the plate.
Of course- I went away for the wkend, only to come back and find the hole right were I saw the plate left- no sign of the plate.

I am sure this has happened before, but are the pistol shrimps attracted to plates or any other coral? I figure he dragged it back into his hole but cant see that far down. I moved some sand and CC but cant find it. Are the plates just not safe to keep with pistols?

probably using it to build with. nice flat rocks are hard to find for a nearly blind shrimp :)
