i put a new 300 watt titanium heater in my sump, question is will the heater ever get hot enough to melt the acrylic in my sump? i just layed it on the bottom because i don't have much room.:(

Mine has been that way for 5 years no problem but my sump is also glass. Can you stick it in the suction cups so its off the bottom or in one of those plastic guards they sell for glass heaters so they don't get broken?

My Via Aqua titanium heater came with a plastic guard plus suction cups. You could still use that even if its on the bottom.

acrylic is a little different then glass, the suction cups it came with wont do either, it barely fits the way i have it. it's perfect now, i just need to know if the heater will ever get hot enough to melt anything in the sump, (eggcrate, sponge, wires), or the sump itself.
