The solenoid that controllers the co2 of my calcium reactor sticks. It is new and if I turn the controller off and the on again it frees up. It is not the controller because I've tested it.
Anyone else have this problem? If so how did you fix it.

Get a new solenoid. It is not worth the nightmare that a sticking unit can AND WILL cause.

Thank for the reply:
This is a new solenoid. I replaced one that was just like it that did the same thing. I thought it might be the controller but I tested it with a table lamp and it worked just fine. I hate to get another one and have it do the same thing. I'm just wondering if there is something that I'm missing here?

They always stick. Or at somepoint they will.
I set my reactor up with the solenoid pluged directly into the wall always on.
No issues here.

Thanks Rick:
I believe you, I guess I will go that way too.

Sure no problem. I rather it go off and stay off after the power goes out than for it to get stuck on when the controller wants it off. Less chance for error.
I took the advice from another veteran hobbyist when I was setting mine up and couldn't be happier.
Good luck with your reactor!

pfish, I went through 2 different regulators with solenoid lock-ups. Do as I did and buy an electronic reg from AQUARIUMPLANTS.COM
( located in Tea, SD). I couldn't be happier. No lock-ups now...:D
