Alk has been on the low side >>> high 7's -> 8
Calcium has been all over >>> 380 -> 500
Mag has been low >>> 1050

Been dosing Mag for a week now and it's still stuck at 1050

Yesterday Calcium tested low > 380 dosed and today it's 500
Alk tested ~8 and I dosed equitable Alk (15ml) it's <8 (7.8 or so)

mi-day pH is in the 8.4 range after being a stable 8.2 for ages.
sg is 1.025

No water changes for a week. What the hay is going on? Why can't I nail this crap?

Did you do a mammoth dose of calcium? If not, that jump is test error.

Forget the calcium values for now, as it may be testing errors or some other problem. Just focus on dosing equal parts of the two part every day to maintain alkalinity. That will maintain calcium wherever it is. After a test or two of calcium, you can determine if you need to make a one time correction to it.

I thought test error too, but I 2x checked and it was the same again.

How about that Magnesium? I've been dosing it everyday 100-150 ml. That should be raising it ~15 per day >>> Same after a week.
Should I do a heavy dose? I see 100 per day is OK, but I don't want to tweak my sps.

I only dosed Alk tonight and I ran it to 20ml to try and get a little jump.

Just because the kit give the same answer twice does not mean it is accurate. :D

If you are not seeing the magnesium levels you want, I'd up the dose of that too. It takes a surprisingly large amount, and kits are not very good at seeing small changes,.
