Hey,
I was wondering if anyone has any pictures of interesting aquarium reef shapes?

My tank is 2ft wide and 2.5ft tall, so how do you think I should the reef?

I will need to anchor the structure together also, what should I use?

There are some interesting pics on reefcentral of people that have made glued PVC stands and drilled their rock and stacked it on the stands. I have a 34" depth on the 260 and it's a bear trying to get the aquascaping up high enough to fill the void. when an avalanche happens though, it's not pretty. i have the rockwork going up 2/3 of the way now. aquamags are cool - check 'em out. they do a good job of creating some needed depth and space filling in tall tanks...

i bought a few of these and like what they've done to the look of the tank.

mine is 7' long, 2' front to back, and 3' tall. plus it visable from both sides so has to be cleanable. I used Lace Lave base rock as platforms that I added feet to using the DIY base rock portland cement stuff. Plus I added a couple arches so I could take advantage of limited space closer to the lights without having a solid tall wall.

do you happen to have any links to any of those glued rocks/rock stands?

Anyone have a picture of their tall tank?

Hey, im setting up a tank with exactly the same dimensions as yours! im getting ready to finish the hood this weekend.. Is it drilled? I have my overflow in the centre at the back and was thinking about building it into a pillar. Do you have any pics of yours?

I did the whole pillar thing with live rock threaded onto acrylic rods for my 31" tall tank. Love it.

30in tall tank here...
I made a two level "step" out of PVC and then stacked rock on top of it.

I really like it b/c it:
a) Keeps a lot of the rock off the sand and gives me less dead spots and more sand filtration capability
b) allows me to remove some of the rocks at the bottom (for fragging or hitting Apstasia) without distrurbing the entire pile.

Hey, great looking tanks!

I especially liked the "pillar" look, (not to say the two step was not sick!), but for my application, pillars would work best.

How else do you guys do pillars, besides stringing the rocks onto acrylic rods?

These are my pillars. They are made from base rock that is attached to an eggcrate frame with zipties. The gaps are filled in with Great Stuff spray foam.
