This is one day's production from my CS8-3+ which has a Sedra 5000, a Sedra 3500 as a recirc and an Aquabee 2000/L also as a recirc. I've had the 3500 off line until today and decided to see what the additional recirc would do and this is the result

Yeah, it's a little bit wet but it's doing the job at about 3-4 times as fast as just the 5000 and the Aquabee alone. With the way I have it set up this is as dry as it is going to get with all three pumps going. With just the two going I can get it as dry as I want though.

How much could it pull with just the one pump? How dark?

Just the Sedra 5000 by itself isn't enough to even fill the chamber to the top with foam. The 5000 and the Aquabee together fill it all the way and I can tune it from there. With the two it can pull a 1/4-1/2 cup of decently med-dark tea stench a day. Bout the same color you see above.

Here is what my via aqua would pull in 18 hours after converting to recirc. This was with a filter sock on a fowler tank though with plenty of fish. I am wanting to take the plunge with my octo 300 to make it pull like that VA could

How much air does the Aquabee pull? Is the Sedra 5K pulling air too I take it?

The Sedra 5K is a needle wheel, is the main skimmer feed pump and is pulling air. Not as much as it was when I first started as I had to back it off with a ball valve. It was pulling too much water in and actually flooding the 35K so much so that it couldn't suck air into the volute. I figued this out thru alot of troubleshooting and figued I had to back the 5K down to allow the 35K to pull air so it would recirc to begin with. Don't know how much either of them pull but the Aquabee pulls much more air than the Sedra 35K, but not as much as the 5K fully open.

And when I say a day's worth I am only talking from about 8 in the AM until when I took the pic at about 5PM or so. ;)

I should point out that just from closing the ball valve and letting the cup fill up, I am actually getting no less than 2 full skimmer cups of NOG( Nasty Organic Goop) per day :D

Love the NOG Jeff!! Do you have full pics of that skimmer?? Would love to see the pumps on there. Thinking of doing that with mine, but use the Sicce's instead.

Check my gallery for a few pics. Will take a few more tomorrow. I also have the skimmer cup plumbed to my main floor drain in the basement. You can see part of it in the pic above with the ball valve. ;)

Hey Freed I just bought a used 8/2 with the Sedra 5000 it has the many turns to remove the cup. I went to Euro Reef and bought a new impellar and a new volute and increased the the air intake from 8 l/min to 14. The problems is that I could not cause the skimmer to overflow if I wanted to it just gets more turbulence and the foam head collapses. It has produced about a finger wide of skimmate in 4 days. I also have a CS5/3 it can be fine tuned easier. I did do a 24 hour vinegar bath two weeks ago so I don't know if it has to break in again. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
