I am looking into ideas as how I want to light my Oceanic 29g Biocube. I have a Viper 150w HQI that hangs on the back but I can not center it since I needed to add a center overflow there. The canopy that came with the unit which I can not use the way I have this all setup, came with (2) CF Actincs I would like to use as well as some moonlights. I would like to combine all these lights into a one unit setup. I was thinking about just hanging it over the tank. The tank is 20" wide so do not have much room. I am looking for ideas as to what I should build or buy for this project.

You could still use the Viper light. All you have to do is to build a stand for it to clamp to that will sit behind the tank.
I am using a coralife clamp on 150w HQI on a 10g. I just made a stand from 2x4 lumber and the light clamps on it very well.

is the light to long? my coralife aqualight pro was 48" and my tank 30" i was able to take the light apart and cut it down on the bandsaw, i was able to do this because most lights are built from stock that is of adjustable "rail stock" so you can cut it and simply slide the parts into place and put the caps back on. hope that helps
