I have a quick question,
I have a 55 gal. tank, 3-4" dsb, about 40# live rock, 6 pices of Xinia, a colt type coral, one 2 - 2 3/4" royal gramma, one 3 1/2 - 4 coral beauty angel(Dwarf), and a flame scallop, at the present time I have 4x55 pc lighting.

sal. 1.025
nitrite 0
nitrate 0
ph 8.2
amonia 0

I want to keep a T-Maxima clam what lighting would you chose????

here are the options that I have been thinking about..

2x250 MH with atniac or 4x110 vho??? please help me with this as I have never thought about a clam before and want to make sure that I have the right amount of light

MH is the best, or Iwasaki , (MV) I believe (but yellowish light close to natural unfilterd sunlight at 6500K).

If you want a clam you will likely have to get rid of your coral beauty. They can pick on clams or stress them to death.

250 MH, with or without VHO, but not VHO only.

If you're interested in clams PLEASE read Daniel Knop's Giant Clams book. You will learn all you need to know.

Best of luck

What about possibly doing 2 x 175 MH over 2 x 250?
