I have an electric orange hermit who seems to have picked my new and healthy toadstool leather as his new hangout spot. The leather had all polyps extended and was healthy and happy for 3 days straight (no adjustment to my aquarium at all, as I've read is common) and then bam, the crab got on the leather's crown and I havent seen a single polyp in 18 hours. The crab wont leave. Attempts to flick it off proved how well those legs hold to a soft surface. Will the crab harm the leather?
Please help.
Thanks

Mike

it will be fine. im sure it is picking at it a bit? it is not really hanging out it is cleanning. there must be some food on it.

He will move on soon just let him be. the leather will be fine they are very hardy corals.

thank you so much

yes he's picking at it and the crabs feet are leaving tiny pock marks on the 'skin' of the leather. I've been sitting there staring at him, willing him to move for an hour.
You have put my mind at ease. Thanks.
