Hi All!!! (especially Randy)....Here's a chenistry question for you....I just bought the stiffest scrub brush I could find to scruvb my rocks before I re-set up my tank & looked at the label & it says "brass pot brush" It actually IS the color of brass so I think it really IS madke out of brass which is an alloy of copper....I was wondering if this would put copper in my tank....Wadaya think????

I would not use it if it is brass colored. Too much chance of bits getting stick into it, etc.

Stainless.....good idea....I'm sure glad my husband knew his chemistry!!! I didn't know brass came from copper......

On another note....My old tank had cc in it & was a nitrate factory....I couldn't keep inverts alive for long....I now have my 10 gal copod tank (which is well cycled for 2 yrs acting as an invert tank until I get my new 92 corner up & running & after watching the sally lightfoot & the snails I'm now sure I'm going to have to scrub the old LR!!!!
(old LR is still cooking in the 20 gal brute) but I took a few cleaner peices out to start up the 10......

I just always use super stiff plastic brushes made for tile and grout and such.

You can scrub hundreds of pounds of rock with them before they wear out and no metal to be concerned with whatsoever

I'll keep that in mind if the inverts aren't good suzy homemakers!!!!!
