Bought this beauty while it was still in the bag. It already looked really blue in the bag with no lighting and I just had to bring it home. I checked it real fast in the bag to make sure it was somewhat healthy. The foot was attached to the bag and the tentacles look full. It has already dug its foot all the way to the bottom of my tank so hopefully it'll stay healthy in my tank. Fingers crossed.

Pic taken under mh no actinics.

Its a beauty. Is that a Gigantea or Haddoni in the backround? Its nice too.

The purple is a haddoni too I believe. Smooth underside with no patterns. It just looks that way after acclimating to my tank. I was fortunate to get healthy specimens....or so i hope it's too early to tell for the blue.

It has longer tentacles very nice. How about some pictures of it?

Thanks I'll take a pic later tonight when the lights are on. When I first got that haddoni I was afraid it was going to die because it was moving around alot but now it has finally settled down. Been 3-4 months now so hopefully have a good chance of survival.

I think the prices of carpets have came down a bit since more of them are coming in. You should look around the web/lfs for the best prices. =)

I agree with the others. The purple one looks an awful lot like a gigantea. Are you sure there are no small spots on the underside of the oral disk? Pic's can be deceiving though, so??????

Here's a pic of the purple carpet:

That's not a haddoni.

Purple carpet gave me a glimpse of its underside. There are some raised bumps but only near the circumference of the carpet. The bumps are not colored. I'm still pretty sure this is a haddoni and not gigantea. Let me hear your thoughts. :)

Look close under the oral disk. Are there little dots like this?

You really think it's not? The rest of the underside is quite smooth I assure you. Unless of course the bumps are not an adequate way to id these guys.

I've never seen a haddoni with bumps like that and long tentacles.

I have to agree with Elegance Coral. I think its Gigantea. Lift up the edge so we can see the under side :) Its awesome no matter what it is.

That bad boy had stung me quite a few times already and ate a couple dragonface pipefishes that I bought for the tank. =( It was sad. I'll try to feed it later so it'll lift up it's gigantic arms.

I agree to, the purple looks a lot like a gigantea. Beautiful blue haddoni, I wish I could get my hands on one.
