Just joined the club! Bought Fliger's small and upgraded to the 1260. Got it set up over the weekend. I had 1 question. When people quote to have the pump in 6.5" of water is this measured from the bottom or top of the pump?

from the bottom of the skimmer body, measure from the base of the skimmer.

Hmm. I'll get pics up when I've got it working. Right now I'm only getting bubbles halfway up the cone. Was hoping I had the water level too low but from your answer I don't. I'll close the gate valve more. Maybe Fliger didn't break it in fully.

how far is the wedge pipe closed?

The red dots are ~ 30-45 degrees from each other so I'd estimate 30-50% closed. Been closing it slowly to prevent an overflow.
