These havnt been opening all the way lately and are starting to lose their color a bit. Their skirts are starting to get a little transparent. All my other zoas are fine including the main colony of these. Any thoughts?

light shock, bleaching...

place it lower in the tank or slightly shaded for a while

they are organisms. Light shock? They are on the sandbed now. The weird thing is I recently had one of my MH bulbs burn out. So right now everything is on one side of the tank and under one 250w bulb, New bulbs are coming in today. Could it be due to lack of light?

Actually... TOO much light or sudden introduction to new lighting scheme... and being too high up... instead of being started from the bottom first then gradually moved up as time passes to give the coral time to acclimate to the new lighting.

Look at it as you being stuck for years in a dimly lit room then suddenly placed in a room filled with 400watt MH... your system would be in so much shock it'll take you a while to get your wits back and eye sight back to normal.

but why would this happen all of a sudden? I didnt add any new lights or move them. they are on the sand bed. The reason I asked if light reduction could cause this is because I had that light burn out.

could vermetid snails cause them to get irritated like this? I do have a couple of those but was told they were a harmless filter feeder. I moved the frag away from the snails after i noticed their "web" near them. That is also around the same time I noticed these were looking weird.

LOL thanks Kev, when you said organisms I thought you meant that in general.
