Looks like a sponge to me. Can't see any detail though.

I see this posted all the time. I wonder who was the original source of this advice? My guess is that it was someone who didn't know much about inverts. Whoever it was, I'll go ahead and contradict it with my own advice: If you are in doubt, try to identify it. If you can't ID it and it doesn't seem to be hurting anything, leave it alone. If it's doing something harmful, like eating your fish or coral, or taking over your tank, then take it out.

By the way, the animal in the pic is either a sponge or an invertebrate that mimics a sponge, hard to be sure from the pic. I'd guess that it's actually a harmless sponge, though.

thanks, I agree, take nothing out until your either sure its bad by id, or you see it doing harm.

If it's beneficial, you just lost something thats good for your tank.
