I have a 120 gallon tank with a 40 gallon sump/refugium. Eventually, I plan to keep a mandarin, so I'd like to have a DSB. For those who have a DSB, do you have it in your display tank, refugium, or both? Is one method better than the other for any reason?

A DSB is not needed to house a mandarin. DSBs are incorporated into peoples systems to control nitrates. I like keeping a DSB in my refugium because if any problems occur I can remove it or replace it without having to rip apart my display.

I have the same exact set up 120 display with 40 sump/refuge. I have a 6 inch sand bed in the refuge and a 2 inch bed in the display. It works well in my opinion. I am loaded with pods.

Okay, sounds like a refugium DSB is the way to go. Thanks everyone :)
