Before I go any further with my plumbing, I wanted to check with you all to see if you see any problems. The way my set up is, I have a 20 gallon sump on a bench with a genx 40 pump. I have a 37 gallon main tank and a 29 gallon fuge. The fuge will gravity feed the main tank. Here is a generic paint picture of my system.

Here is pictures of the plumbing:

The bottom valve (#2) is going to go and feed the main tank. Valve (#1) is going to go to the fuge. Everything is pretty much on the same level, fuge is higher than the main and main is a little higher than the sump.
Any problems with my plumbing? Should #1 be the main tank and #2 be the fuge?
Should I fix anything before I continue?
Thanks for the help.

#2 will definitely have to feed the main tank because the way you have it plumbed, #1 will not get much if any feed unless #2 is closed off some.

So if 2 is the main tank, will any flow go up number 1 to the fuge?

I was thinking that I should close number 2 a lot causing water to go to 1 and 1 will be the main tank. The little amount still going through 2 will go to the fuge.

What would you do?

Should I change this? The goal for having all of the plumbing by the sump is for ease of moving the valves.

To me it shouldnt matter which one you use becaue you can finetune each one by using the valves.

Agreed. I would use whichever is easier and adjust accordingly.
