Hi All, 1st time poster, long time lurker. I have a couple of deep nooks in my 55 gallon reef. What are some corals that dont want direct light? Some button-types maybe? I have a lot of purple and green in my tank(like most people). Any yellow or orange-y corals that prefer shade?

Thanks!!

Sun coral, or another type of dendrophyllia.

Some palys do well with a little bit of shade, although they still feed off the light.

You could also browse through the non-photosynthetic coral board. They don't necessarily like or need shade, they just don't need the light.

There are plenty of very bright colored sponges you could get.
