I needed to know if there is a spot like COMAS where I can talk to other reefers. I am moving down to Texas friday, and would love the info.

Look forward to seeing you on the forums and at the meetings.
Please don't hesitate to contact either group for info on the arera and the low-down on the shops (lot of gossipy folks down here).

There is a LFS map on the DFWMAS website - but you are correct there is not much in the way of fish shops in Denton.
What type work are you seeking?

I am looking for something light duty entry level, as I am pregnant. My husband is looking for maintence, forklift operator, or something like that

I'm a little out of touch with warehouse stuff but I believe ULine in Coppell is looking for operators/pickers.

Texas Women's College often has a number of entry / secretary / warehouse / maintenance things open. Denton campus search:

I know this thread is older but the Wal*Mart distribution center just north of Denton on I-35 is always hiring. They have positions open in a lot of areas of warehouse work.

Wow talk about hobbiest that are willing to go above and beyond the call of duty.
The Dallas Fort Worth Marine Aquarium Society has been around since 1998. We hold bi-annual frag swaps, monthly meetings, coral CoOp program, tank tours, yearly club social, our yearly Next Wave which is a mini trade show and educational reefing seminar with a HUGE raffle, as well as an annual scholarship fund.
Explore our site, our club is one of the largest MAS in America and has a ton of good people who are more than willing to help out. The above is just an example.

Thank you. My husband has found a job, and if I can find something local, and not physically demanding I am going to take it, as I am almost 6 months pregnant. Is there anyone near Denton, Texas that is into saltwater?

My wife and I live in Carrollton, Texas which is not too far from Denton in fact we are in Denton county not Dallas county. There is also a LFS that is not too far from Denton and that would be Rift to Reef (#29 on the map) in Lewisville, we shop there often. Here is a link useful for all reefers that list most all the location fish stores and other resources that you may need. http://www.dfwmas.org/local_stores/

Thank you so much. I cant really shop for anything right now, but when I can I will remember that. I had to go from a 55 gal to a 29 gal, that was heartbreaking.

There's nothing wrong with a 29g. I had one for seven years. :)
But I know what you meant. Maybe later you'll get the opportunity to upgrade again.
