well Victor,
I have to say thanks before i even start this one.:D

i had the opportunity to put it on and took of my dart pump that powers my entire prop system. a 135,125,50 and other 45 in fishholding racks. kinda of a crazy system but it does work for me well. i always wondered how more flow would be on this but never thought it would be from an airstar.
dart input 2 outlet 1.5 est flow 3300
airstar iinput 1.5 outlet 1.25. est flow hmm 3750+or -

trying to get my kilowatt meter back is going to take another day or so. so i can not say how much wattage it is.

i am sure Victor could chime in with the exact numbers.

pics will be up this evening to view. i will say it is quiet. on the quest to kill that cricket in the garage now.

1.Ok a little news on these new pumps on the airstar 1500 I finaly got my watt meter and just sitting in a tub of water it ran a continuous 77 watts now I impeaded the flow (put my hand in front of it)to take into account some plumbing and it popped right down to 65 watts my electric bill likes that.
2.Now to the big guns that ran at a continuous 115watts but again with the hand method;) it did run at 105 watts. This big pump is sweet I took it to a school a buddy of mine runs there coral farm we stuck this thing in a 150 gallon tub set it on it's side and watched it get my son wet:lol2:

Will either one of these pumps out perform a Mag 1200? The reason I'm asking is that I have a Mag 1200 driving a Venturi skimmer and was wondering if either one of these pumps would be an upgrade. The skimmer has a one inch barb fitting on it. Anyway thanks in advance for any and all information.

On a venturi skimmer i think you need a pressure rated pump. These pumps are mainly for flow, circulation

Yup, it drive me crazy. I miss this hobby so much that i keep on doing water change in my rock bin weekly. I have 3 bin full of rock so i keep me busy for a few mins. I'm thinking about putting the FS3200 in one of the bin to see how strong it is and also test for the max head pressure.

It has been a while but I have finally got my systam filled with water. I have had the sump up and running for three months now using the medium with Eheim, Love the skimmer!

Best of all I was finally able to use my new pump. It is the 7500 l/hr. Hooked it up and flicked the switch and nutting, Could not hear a thing. Had to restart to make sure it was working. I have plumbed it into a OM 4 way in a 60x24x28.

Very impressed on how quiet this is, I would even go so far as saying that it is quieter than the Eheim.

I was so impressed, I just put an order in for the 6000lt for my return, This will be put into place of the eheim, this will now be built into my water changing station to do water changes. The extra flow will be put into great use now I will be using a larger return pump, Manofold will be put into use and will cut down on pumps in my sump.

MMM... might have to look into a airstar for my skimmer NOW... Will it be worth it????

Victor,
What pump would you recommend for a 185-200g system? I am in the planning stages of either a Deep Sea 185 Neo or a custom Elos 160xl- clone style tank. Also do you have a pump similar to the output of the Aquabee 2000/1 pump? Mine on my KZ Revolution skimmer really p!@#$ me off.

I would upgrade the skimmer to an out of the box eheim 1260 and the return a flowstar 1500

my aquabee produced more than the eheim 1260 that i had connected to it

i never turn it off i just feed the tank and the foam head collapses and i dump the cup

the flowstar is the way to go with back pressure it will probably only be running at 50 to 60 watts.I put my hand in front of mine and it drops right down to 65 watts:D

I would say so. My 90gal has an Ehiem 1262(900g/hr), but I have several elbows in my return scheme though. Mine is probably down to 500g/hr or so. I would reccomend an Ehiem 1260(600g/hr) for that size of display. They are quiet and don't add much heat.

I'm putting one on my 67g with a single 3/4" return line I'm going to use a ball valve to throttle it way back hopefully reducing it's energy consumption to less than the 45w my eheim1250 uses.

Would these pumps handle 12-16 feet of head pressure? I'm looking to put my sump in the basement, below the 180 gallon tank. I want about 6-700 gph of flow coming into the tank. The reason I'm interested in the flow stars, is that they are quiet and efficient. The basement area will be next to a section of the basement that is finished, so I don't want a lot of noise. I'm very happy with my ATB skimmer, btw.

I attempted to run about 1/2 the flow though the chiller and the other 1/2 to the other return. The one return almost pushed water out of the tank. I currently don't have the chiller plumbed in the system. Not that big a deal at the moment. The tank has all t5's and the fan is keeping the temp down. The main problem I believe was the 5/8" hose that the chiller requires for connection.
